About this blog

Why has she created a blog about television?
What is this page about?
Who is this person?

As you may already know, I am Christine. But who is Christine? Well, I am a junior in high school and I have created this blog mainly because my Journalism teacher has assigned us to. I was born on Christmas Eve, I love the color purple, I enjoy playing sports such as water polo, basketball and snowboarding, when I am hungry I gobble down food as if there is a whole in my stomach, I go to church because my parents want me to, I am part of the school a capella choir (although I am a horrible singer and cannot hit those high notes), I am a staff writer for the school newspaper, I am currently learning how to knit and have failed in trying to learn how to beatbox, and sleep is my enemy; I only get 6 hours of it.

Enough random facts about me. Now that you have a broad idea of who I am.. Where does television fit in my life?
To be honest, I do not watch television on a daily basis. As I have mentioned before, I do not even have the time to sleep a full 8 hours a day. So how can I write about TV shows when I do not spend enough time with my television?
Like a good friend, television is here for me in my time of need (and boredom). We may not spend every waking moment together, but after a long, restless week I can always depend on my reliable friend Mr. Sony. I house him and shelter him, and in return he entertains me and brings joy to my family when asked to.
One can say that we have a "friends with benefits" relationship. I am able to watch from different televisions and he is able to be watched by others as well. I love my television and regardless my busy schedule, I find time to watch.

Some shows I may be writing about or critiquing in this blog include the following genres: cartoons, dramas, comedies, sports, movies, anime, reality television, music, cooking, news, game shows, etc.
So hit that follow button and stay tuned for more.

  1. Your first post really tells much about you. As a junior, there are really a lot of assignments to stress about. But as you go through your daily lives, you know that in the end of the day that there is that one thing that you are looking forward to, something that can make you relax. I really do recommend you get enough sleep. It's not just good for your health, but also for your electric bills.

  2. Christine,

Heheh! I liked your little metaphor/analogy you made in your post! It took me awhile to realize Mr. Sony was a television box designed by people in Japan! Pretty clever!

I'm looking forward to what you right about television. I myself hardly watch television anymore, although it is nice to keep up with what's going on. I admit that my guilty pleasure is Dancing with the Stars, but I also have a huge thing for game shows too. I recommend giving Doctor Who a chance if you can!

  3. I agree with Kevin because I really enjoyed reading this post! Haha, I found it really interesting. I can understand where you're coming from because, although I'm swamped with homework and hectic schedules, I still manage to find time to stare at my television screen for periods of time. Sometimes, you just can't help it! I look forward to following your blog and maybe learning about interesting shows I haven't seen or heard of before.

  4. I love your metaphor you having a "friends with benefits" relationship with your television. I also barely have time to watch TV anymore and TiVo almost all my shows. Maybe you can discuss the benefits of the having a DVR? I'm also a big fan of the teen drama Gossip Girl and would love to here your thoughts about it on a blog post.

  5. I really like to watch television, but like you, I don't have much time due to schoolwork. There's several shows I'm interested in watching, so by reading your blog, I might come across one of the shows I like. It will be interesting to read a blog from a student perspective.

  7. Hi Christine,
I agree with Kevin and Micaela. Your metaphor of having "friends with benefits" was very clever. You seem to have a laid back blog and it really fits with your topic. I'm looking forward to reading more about the music shown on TV (seeing that there aren't many). I'm not much of a TV person, so I hope I can catch up on some shows that I have missed through your blog.

  8. Don't we all have that nostagia feeling remembering we used to wake up early on Saturday morning to watch silly cartoons? I truly miss that feeling, but no ones said I'm not still doing it now! :)

  9. Hi Christine,

I honestly am not a big TV person; I'm more of a book person. The only times I watch TV is when there is a program I really want to watch, when there is a game going on (especially football), and when a really good cartoon is on (cartoons are my kryptonite). Everyone is always talking about some TV show that I missed, but hopefully your blog will keep me posted!

  10. Hi Christine,
Unlike Mia, I am a big TV person. I love to watch dramas. I watch dramas of different country. I am looking forward to read your blog. So, are you going to recommend us which show we should watch? If you have time, will you write a summary for each episodes? (This is just my idea. I mean if I miss an episode, I can look at your blog) All in all, to me, this is an interesting blog. I will read every of your post as I am a really a TV person.

  11. Hey Christine,

I can relate to your blog about not having time to watch TV, which is slightly sad. I can remember as I child I would try to spend countless hours watching TV. It is great to have a blog about something that is close to me.

  12. Hello,

Honestly, TV shows much of the negative sides of the world. Shows in MTV are ridiculously bad, both in intelligence and entertainment value, the news is depressing, and the shows tend to be too nostalgic.

  13. Hi Christine,
I really like the way you introduce your TV and I could really feel the bond you have between it. Hopefully this blog will keep me updated with all the new shows coming out since the high school life limits me to what I watch nowadays.

  14. Hi Christine,
to be honest, there's nothing good on TV anymore and like yourself, I don't watch TV a lot unless it's with my parents. Keep up the good work!

  15. I really like how you described your relationship with your tv, haha. I haven't been watching tv because the shows aren't the same anymore but hopefully I'll read about interesting shows through your blog.
